Feeling HOT HOT HOT

This week Nathan and I had the opportunity to go to Las Vegas for Nathan's Grandpa's 80th birthday party. It was a little last minute, so we are glad Nathan could get off work so we could go. It was a nice little get away. We didn't want to spend too much money so we found a deal at Excalibur. By the way, the hotel obviously looks like a castle, so my question is, why didn't they name it Camelot because Camelot is the castle and Excalibur is the sword...anyways...

We left Wednesday afternoon once Nathan got off work and arrived in Las Vegas around 8:00. We ate a classy dinner at McDonald because we wanted to catch a movie that night. We went over to The Orleans and saw the 10:15 showing of Harry Potter: And the Half Blood Prince.

Thursday morning we went back to The Orleans for their 6 dollar buffet breakfast. As Nathan would say, "You can't shake a stick at that" price. We then went back to the hotel to layout before the party. We only were out there for an hour or so, and we both were surprised at how much sun we got. After laying out, we scrambled to get ready for the surprise party.

The party was out of this world. It was crazy! Nathan's Grandpa Cliff is remarried to a Filipino woman, and a bunch of her relatives live in the house. When we walked in Nathan said, "Don't worry, I don't know who anyone is either." I then met Nathan's grandpa; a quite old man. Nathan's Mom, Uncle Nick, Uncle Mike, his sister Trina and her husband and kids were at the party.

(As you can see, Nathan got the height in his family)

Ok, so I said the party was out of this world, and what I mean by this is when you walked into the kitchen there was a whole pig on the island, and it was surrounded by all this Filipino food--nothing I have ever seen before. The food was okay...a lot of pork and I am not that into pork. I didn't try the pig. The poor kids were starving because they were too afraid to eat the exotic food. They were drooling over the cake; the only normal thing there.

We were at the party for a while because Nathan had to use their wifi to work on some homework assignments, and it took forever because people kept talking to him.

You will see in the collage below a picture of Nathan with his cousin Sean. We got a kick out of this. The kid is young enough to be Nathan's son. He is only 4 years old and he is half Thai...so funny!

After the party we went back to the hotel, and we had intentions of going out, but we were both exhausted so we both passed out on the bed.

The next morning we went to The Orleans again for breakfast, and then we went back to the hotel to layout for a few hours before heading back home. Nathan's sister was staying at Excalibur too, so we hung by the pool with them for a few hours. Then we headed back home to our babies. We wanted to stay one more night, but Nathan has an 8 page paper to write in the next few days. But it was a successful trip.
