Lately, I've been a little obsessed over bold colored lipstick. A few years back, I bought my first tube of "red" lipstick when I was Marlyn Monroe for Halloween; I put red in quotes because what I thought was red turned out to be more of a fuchsia (the color I'm wearing in the picture above). Then a few years after that I wore that same color to our third Michael Buble concert. I don't know what it was about that night, but loved the color much more than when I wore it for Halloween. Slowly, over the last few years, I've been buying tubes of lipstick (I can't pass up a drug store BOGO deal), and mostly Revlon for some reason. Even though I've had some of these for a while now, I wouldn't really wear them very often. I wasn't brave enough. When I would go out with a bright red or fuchsia lip, I felt like everyone was staring at me thinking, "Who does she think she is wearing that color in public?" And I especially didn't wear the colors to work, for my kids would think I was coo-coo. But once I died my hair dark brown, something changed. I feel like, for some reason, I can get away with the bright, bold colors now. There is something more daring and mysterious about dark hair and, therefore, my lips are allowed to be daring too. I even wear fuchsia lips to work, and for picture day this year I sported a True Red lip. I'm partially a fan of Revlon's Colorburst and Super Lustrous lines. I also love the Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss line as well. They have great color, but are in lipgloss-form and they are really easy to throw on in a hurry.
