I am sitting at home on Labor Day. I am finished cleaning, and there is a load of laundry in the washer. Nathan is sitting on the couch and I on the love seat. Sarah is asleep next to me. I am listening to music from the iTunes on my laptop. Right now Pachelbel's Canon in D Major is playing. Delilah just jumped up to lay between me and Sarah. Now Third Eye Blind's "Deep Inside of You" is playing. It makes me remember my teen years. They are beginning to feel like distant years. But I am grateful for those years past, for my childhood memories, the loneliness of my early twenties, and the sense of self I found in my mid-twenties because all those years brought me to where I am now.
Over the last few days, and as my 27th birthday approaches, I have thought quite a bit about the things I have to be grateful for:
A husband who loves me and I love him
A husband who is working hard to get his degree
A husband who enjoys taking me out to interesting and fun places where we experience and take in new cultures
A job I love
The fact that I didn't lose my job last year
I have my own classroom
I have my credential finally
No financial struggles
Two cute puppies who bring me laughter every day
My healthy body
My patience
Rekindled friendships
I live in the beautiful state of California
Brothers and sisters who are my best friends
Parents who support me through my choices
I am comfortable and content with my life
Wonderful memories
A promising future
I have reason to smile =)
