I am staying at West Ranch!!! As many of you know, I was being laid off from my job because of the California budget crisis, and because education was hit hard, my school needed to lay off some teachers. I, being the most recent hire, was the first to go. But, yesterday I was walking to the office to drop off some papers, and my principle came out and asked to talk to me. He had the greatest news. Earlier this semester an English teacher had twins and has been on maternity leave for a while. Well, it turns out that she has decided to resign and raise her twins until they are in preschool. Therefore, there is a position for me and I get to stay and fill her position! My principle was delirious with delight as was I, obviously. This is such a blessing. I had been hired to work at Burroughs High School in Burbank next year, but now I am saved from the commute and the horrible expense of gas! The ironic thing is, have known about this for a while and I was putting off telling my students about it, but the day I started telling them is the day I got the new that I get to stay. Funny! But, I am so happy. Life has a way of working itself out.
