Last Friday we decided to take a trip to the zoo. It was very spur of the moment, but it couldn't have been a better day. We got there mid-afternoon, so the sun was low and shone through the trees like celestial rays of light and the weather was perfect. It was so empty it felt like we had the park to ourselves. We went unsure of if Hudson would understand what is was all about. He did, but some exhibits held his interest more than others. He seemed most interested in the fish, tigers, giraffe, gorillas, and the little meerkats. We missed the lion and elephants. It was a perfect success and I look forward to returning often to watch Hudson become more interested in the animals as he grows. If he's anything like his mommy, he's going to love animals.
