August Day 8 :: Glasses
I used to be the one with the good eyes in the family. I remember my dad asking me to read street signs from 1/2 a mile off and I could without any problems. When I turned 24, and soon after I started teaching, I noticed my vision was slightly blurred and had to start wearing glasses for the first time in my life. For 3 years in a row, during my yearly eye check ups, I found out that the vision was progressively getting worse and worse. People told me it's all the reading and grading papers; I don't know about that, but luckily, these last two years it has maintained and not gotten any worse. Now all seven of my siblings wear glasses, well except two who have gotten lasik. I for sure want to do that one day!
Ps. Half a mile might have been a bit of an exaggeration.
Mine has been getting worse too! If I forget my glasses when I go somewhere, its actually turned into more of a problem than an inconvenience. Ah the joys of aging!
