Is it Normal...
Is it normal that while packaging away my sons 0-3 month clothes, I found a preemie sized onesie he wore his first week of life and wondered how he was ever that small?
Is it normal to wonder if you're son has enough toys to help him grow into a smart, healthy boy?
Is it normal to be okay with getting to work a few minutes later than usual because changing my son's morning diaper seems more important?
Is it normal if I feel my heart explode when my son smiles at me?
Is it normal that from the time I get home from work until the time my son goes to bed I get nothing done other than spending time with him?
Is it normal that the old "me" is becoming someone I used to know?
Is it normal to miss the nighttime feedings dimly lit by the glow of my iPhone while lying in bed with my babe, and then falling asleep together until dawn?
Is it normal to wish I could have done a better job with breast-feeding and cry when I really think about it coming to an end?
Is it normal to be excited about the future but saddened by how quickly the present is going?

Is it normal to wish I could go back and do it all over again, pregnancy, birth and all?
Is it normal to cry through writing a blog post?
I cry every time I put another set of clothes away because they've been outgrown. I also cry every time I bring out a new set of Kade's old clothes for Tadd to wear. The more kids I have the more I cry.
ReplyDeleteI cried when I put his first set of clothes away too! And I worry everyday that I'm not teaching him enough or talking or singing. I think it's just part of being a mom!
ReplyDeleteall normal. motherhood: heart warming and heart wrenching all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteP.S. you tried hard with breastfeeding. don't be tough on yourself.
