Christmas 2011

This Christmas was an interesting one, mostly because it is the last Christmas with just the two of us. With Hudson coming in just 6 short weeks, next year will be much different. Unfortunately, due to our schedules, we weren't able to do many of the same traditions we usually enjoy, so this year did feel a little different. We were both busy-- Nathan working his second holiday job along with his usual job, and I with crocheting, teaching and, well being pregnant. We also decided this year that we would forgo buying gifts for each other because there are so many other priorities right now. We have a to do list up the wa'zoo and they all require cha'ching. Nathan has been hard at work on remodeling our bathroom and putting up furniture in Hudson's room (which is almost finished). We need to get our outdoor fences fixed and pave our backyard...so in the scheme of things Christmas gifts just weren't happening this year. Nevertheless, we did enjoy the holiday.
On Christmas Eve we had Chloe and Sean over for dinner. We cooked up a pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing. They brought dessert. It is yummy! It was nice to spend the night with good friends since I don't have any family around anymore.

Christmas day was spent mostly in relaxation. We watched A Christmas Story about 3 times. Later that afternoon, inspired by A Christmas Story, we went out for Chinese food, and then we spent the rest of the night lounging some more. It was a nice Christmas for Nathan and I to just enjoy each others company. Monday morning we woke up to hit up some after Christmas sales. We've spent the last few days together, relaxing, working in Hudson's, going to the gym and eating good food. Today Nathan goes back to work, so back to the grid I guess.
