Dear Hudson :: 6 Months

I cannot believe that today you are already 6 months. My goodness, time flies. Every day you seem to get cuter and cuter. Your cuteness drives me crazy, and I love to squeeze your adorable body all day. Here are some of the things going on at 6 months:

-You are so talkative. You are loud and make all kinda of sounds. Your little language is my favorite.
-You love when mommy takes a nibble of your cheeks or belly. It makes you smile so big.
-Your little feet wont stop moving. If only they would work right, I know you would walk all around this place.
-You've had a few busy months. You took your first road trip to Utah in June. Sitting that long was not your favorite. In July you went to Disneyland for the first time. You loved It's a Small World. You had your first beach trip in July, and you were lulled to sleep by the waves for most of the day.
-You roll around like a roly poly. You roll from your stomach to back, to stomach and back again. Rolling is no problem for you now. In fact, you roll all over in your crib at night. Who knows which way or what position you will be in by morning.
-Mommy tends to sing everything to you. She adds melodies to every day tasks like diaper changes, bath time even something so mundane as walking down the hall or putting you on the bed becomes a song. I'm kinda silly like that.
-You don't have your 6 months check up until next week, but I'm sure you weigh at least 16 pounds, and everyone comments on how tall you are.
-You can hold your own bottle, and put your own pacifier in your mouth. Your hand/eye coordination is really getting good.
-I can tell you really want to crawl. When a toy's out of reach, you'll pull your knees to your chest and try to reach out for it. You'll be all over this house before we can blink.
-You smile so easily, and your smile is so charming. You happily return smiles everyone.
-Your laugh could just be the best sound there is.
-You inherited your mommy's rosy cheeks, and they are particularly rosy after nap and bath time.
-You are friendly with everyone. The girls at the gym child care always comment on how good you are.
-You've been eating rice cereal and solids for some time now. You seem to like everything we give you. Your favorites seem to be pears and sweet potatoes, but you've enjoyed applesauce, mango, banana, peas, green beans, prunes and squash.
-You've had a few busy months. You took your first road trip to Utah in June. Sitting that long was not your favorite. In July you went to Disneyland for the first time. You loved It's a Small World. You had your first beach trip in July too. You were lulled to sleep by the waves for most of the day.
-I think daddy's your favorite and you are so fascinated by him and his cool, deep voice. You love his prickly goatee too.
-We've been waiting for you to grown a tooth for what seems like an eternity. Any day now, I know it.
-You love Sarah and Delilah (the dogs) and you laugh at them all the time. You love to pet them whenever they are within arms reach.
-You love to stand up on your two feet, with mommy and daddies help of course, and dance those little feet around.
-You let us know when you're tired by rubbing your eyes, or make a cute this whining sound.
-You are sleeping well at night. Your bedtime keeps getting earlier and earlier. Just recently you've started going to bed between 7:00 and 7:30, and you will sleep until 6:00, and then you'll fall asleep for another 2 hours after you eat a little. You do wake up here and there during the night, sometimes due to a poopie diaper or to search for your pacifier.
-You've started sleeping on your stomach. It made us nervous at first, but you are fully capable of holding your head up and rolling over if you need to, so we don't worry as much but still monitor you at night just in case.
-You decided you only want to take about two 1/2 hour long naps during the day. Mommy and daddy are hoping it's just a phase and you will go back to your 2-3 hour naps.
-You are ever aware of this world and don't want to miss any of it. Whenever we carry you you whip your head this way and that and all around to see everything possible.

Gosh, you really are a good boy. You are very patient and you don't really cry all that much. I'm so thankful that I am blessed to have you in my life. When I look at you I am so happy and excited for the things will be do together as you grow. I say to you all the time, "We're gonna have fun!" Your daddy love you so much too and the two of you light up my life.
